COVID-19 Policy

SAGE’s COVID-19 Response

Our organization is dedicated to the wellbeing and safety of our residents and staff, and has been especially resilient during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our Preventative Measures

At the early onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we initiated several protective measures in our communities. In February 2020, our CEO and president provided COVID-19 specific training for both staff and residents, including updated information regarding PPE, hygiene, and sanitization.

Even prior to State mandates, our communities limited visitors and required everyone entering a facility – including staff, residents, and providers – to wear masks. A special team of professional cleaners was employed ten hours each day to thoroughly sanitize all buildings, focusing on high traffic and touch areas such as door knobs and railings.

As communal dining and gatherings were suspended to limit any potential entry or spread of COVID-19, we engineered ways to offer meals and wellness activities in individual apartments. We purchased iPads for each building, in order to offer residents medical and personal visits virtually. Hallway social events were organized so that residents could enjoy music, movies, and exercise from their doorways.

Our communities – staff and residents – were among the first facililties to the COVID-19 vaccines in January and February of 2021. Thanks to extensive educational efforts and staff incentives, all employees and most residents have been fully vaccinated.

For more than a year, SAGE has conducted weekly – or bi-weekly if the situation warranted it – COVID testing for all residents and staff. Regular scheduled PCR testing of all staff continues and our facilities are fully compliant with State Covid protocols.

For additional protection both Assisted Living facilities installed hospital grade HEPA air filtration systems as well as protective Plexiglas shields in their lobby and dining room. These considerable measure have allowed us to safely return to communal dining.

We carefully follow all state requirements regarding COVID-19 policies for assisted living facilities.

Our president and CEO honored our staff with a plaque at each community: “When COVID-19 threatened our wellbeing and our will, these individuals agreed to be inoculated. Their decision strengthened our confidence and protected our community. God bless them, now and forever.
