Staff

Each facility employs a dedicated staff who share a commitment to the wellbeing of our residents as well as expertise in fields of nursing, social work, administration, wellness and culinary arts. Many of our staff have been with us since our opening over 20 years ago and have a deep knowledge and passion for what they do.  Every member of the SAGE team is dedicated to making our Villages an exceptional place to work. Competent, compassionate care isn’t just our job, it’s our mission.

Staff Highlight: Mary

Mary is one of SAGE’s longest-term employees – she started working with us before the doors even officially opened!

As a neighbor of St. Anthony, Mary took notice of the Village’s construction and decided to apply for a job. She was one of the first employees hired, and came on board two weeks before opening day to help with final touches to the building, such as hanging curtains in the apartments. Once residents started moving in, Mary became one of our dedicated caregivers. A couple months later, she moved into the role of Medical Technician. She worked as a Med Tech at St. Anthony for 17 years! Now, she one of our amazing RN assistants.

Mary was originally drawn to St. Anthony because of the vibrancy the property gave off – she had a feeling that it would be a spirited community. And SAGE did not disappoint! She immediately loved the community atmosphere, working closely with the residents and bonding with our incredible staff. St. Anthony holds a special place in her heart, and she considers it her home and family.

The most important lesson Mary has taken from SAGE is how to appreciate such diverse people and personalities, treating everybody with the same level of care and respect. What she admires most about SAGE is that more than 80% of our residents are low-income, and we create room for a majority of Medicaid participants. We continue to put the utmost care and quality into our communities.

Mary was born just over the border in Washington and grew up locally in Portland. Over the years, she has raised 5 children, and she now has 10 grandkids! She enjoys doing jigsaw puzzles in her spare time. She admits that work is her life – but she says “when you love what you do, it doesn’t feel like work!”

The staff of St. Anthony love and adore Mary for her outstanding commitment to the community. It just wouldn’t be the same without her! Thank you, Mary for your care and dedication for over two decades!
